Welcome to Crooked River Challenge!

I’m excited to bring you a fantastic one loft race in the beautiful high desert of Central Oregon. Located on 200 acres just outside of Madras, my property offers 360-degree views of wide-open country—an ideal setting for a successful and challenging pigeon race.

The Loft

The loft measures 60’ x 48’, with over 2,000 square feet of interior space and an additional 1,000 square feet of aviary space. It features expanded metal flooring, designed to promote optimal health in Central Oregon’s dry climate.

About Me

My passion for pigeons started in my early teens when I was fortunate to be mentored by Joe Haas, a great racer who taught me the art of training and competing with the Cream City Flying Club in Wisconsin.

In my 20s, I stepped away from pigeon racing to train sled dogs, spending several years in Alaska running teams and guiding glacier tours. Eventually, in 2007, I made my way to Oregon, where I earned a degree in Animal Science with an emphasis in poultry from Oregon State University.

After returning to the sport, I raced with the Oregon Trail Combine and later with the St. Helens Combine. In 2015, I purchased my property in Madras, an ideal location for raising and racing pigeons. Today, I continue to compete as an active member of the Central Oregon Racing Pigeon Club while dedicating myself fully to making Crooked River Challenge a premier one loft race.

My Commitment to You

Crooked River Challenge is more than a job—it’s my passion and full-time focus.

With my Animal Science degree, bird breeding experience, and years of pigeon racing, I am fully dedicated to ensuring the best possible care, training, and performance for every bird in my loft.

I’ll treat your pigeons as if they were my own because I love this sport as much as you do.

Thank you for your interest in Crooked River Challenge! I look forward to working with you. Please feel free to reach out anytime.
